Midtown Sculptural Light Pole Banners
Xổ số đài thoải máiDeadline: January 1, 2021
The Reno Arts & Culture Commission (RACC) is seeking proposals from artists for a public art opportunity in the Midtown District of Reno. Artists working in the United States and who have experience designing projects with a similar budget and scope are encouraged to apply.
The Reno Arts & Culture Commission is looking for an artist/artist team to design and create sculptural banners—kinetic or static or a combination of the two—for light poles in the newly redesigned Midtown District.
Xổ số đài thoải máiThere are approximately 120 light poles that sculptural banners could be placed on. The RACC is looking for a minimum of 40 sculptural banners. The sculptures can be attached to the poles in various locations but must not be reachable by pedestrian traffic and not interfere with the traffic lane (this is a major bus route). The light poles are 18 feet high. The printed banners are hung with a bottom clearance of 13 feet. The maximum weight for the sculptural banners cannot exceed 10 pounds.
The goals for the project include: creating a unique character for a specific area of town, increasing public awareness of art, and broadening visitors’ perspectives of public spaces within the City. The artist(s) selected should have demonstrated experience working in public locations subject to vandalism and weather.
Projected budget is $42,000 for the entire project.
This budget is inclusive of all costs associated with the design, planning, fabrication, installation, and completion of the project. The budget includes all travel costs and insurance. The City will assist with installation logistics.
